Triple lockdown: Govt revises order, banks to function on 3 days | Kerala triple lockdown

Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala government has initiated action to strengthen the restrictions as triple lockdown will come into force in 4 districts from Sunday midnight. Ernakulam, Thiruvananthapuram, Thrissur and Malappuram districts are the four districts that will be placed under triple lockdown in the wake of COVID-19.

In a fresh order, the government has changed the working days of the banks.

Banks in the four districts will be allowed to function on Monday, Wednesday and Friday like other districts. All banks in the four districts must complete the duty within the prescribed time limit with minimum staff.

Earlier, the government informed that commercial banks will function on Tuesday and Friday and Cooperative banks will function on Monday and Thursday from 10 am to 1 pm with minimum staff.

Banks in all other 10 districts are functioning on Monday, Wednesday and Friday amid the lockdown. 

The government revised the order on banking hours in districts under triple lockdown after examining that banks across the state have to jointly function for the smooth operation of banking services.

Milk, newspaper supply till 8 am

Distribution of milk and newspaper will be allowed till 8 am in districts under triple lockdown like other districts. Along with this, the sale of fish should be carried out before 8 am. 

Earlier, the government directed to complete milk and newspaper distribution before 6 am.
