Two senior executives quit SpiceJet, Infra News, ET Infra


Two senior executives of SpiceJet have left the company amidst the airlines revival attempt.

Sources said that Shilpa Bhatia, Chief Commercial Officer of SpiceJet and Arun Kashyap, Chief Operating Officer of the company have resigned.

31 March will be their last working day. Bhatia and Kashyap are likely to start their own charter airline business.

Last year the duo had floated a company called Sirius India Airlines Pvt. Ltd which for business in air transport sector.

” Kashyap quit months back and is likely to build his own company. The company is in the process of importing a eight seater charter aircraft, ” a source said.

Kashyap has got immense experience and had quit SpiceJet in 2022 to join Air India as Chief Transformation Officer.
He resigned and joined SpiceJet in less than a year.

Before that he has worked in Jet Airways and Oman Air. Kashyap will be rejoining SpiceJet from Air India where he is the Chief Technical Officer. Earlier, he had served as the Chief Program & Transformation Officer at SpiceJet.

SpiceJet has received Rs 1,000 crore funding from a clutch of investors and is in the midst of a restructuring. The restructuring involves to lay off almost 800 people to cut costs.
