The headline index reached yet another lifetime high of 18,679.55 on Wednesday, on the third consecutive day. While IT, consumer durables and PSU bank shares fell, metal, reality and auto equities showed buying sentiment. 


  


At 11:22 IST, the barometer index, the S&P BSE Sensex climbed by 54 points at a level of 62,736 level. In the broader market, S&P BSE Mid-Cap too soared by 92 points and is at a level of 25,772. Likewise, the Small-Cap index jumped by 123 points and is trading at 29,465 levels. 


  


The Nifty 50 index inched up gaining 23 points and is trading at 18,641 level. The Bank Nifty, on the contrary declined by 99 points, trading at 42,954 level. Tata steel and reliance were the heavily traded stocks on the Nifty50 index today. 


  


On November 28, foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) turned out to be the net buyers of shares worth Rs 1,241.57 crore and the domestic institutional investors (DIIs) turned out to be net buyers of shares worth 744.42 crore.
