This is according to WABetaInfo, a website that covers news and updates related to WhatsApp. This is how, as per WABetaInfo, the feature would work:

Select beta testers, the website says, are receiving prompts with a message inviting them to try calling their groups. The message mentions the ability to video call contacts and groups, up to 32 people, right from the Windows app.

WhatsApp already has the ability to have maximum 32 users on an audio call.

It must, however, also be noted that some beta testers may receive prompts with a different message, one that mentions support for 16 people on a video call. They may also get to share the content of their screens during such an interaction.

The option to have up to 32 users on a video call is available for beta testing upon installing the latest WhatsApp beta for Windows update released on the Microsoft Store. A wider public launch is expected to take place over the next few days.
