ByteDance has launched two new housing-related services according to Chinese media outlet Tech Planet, with the TikTok owner unveiling offline real estate agency “Xiaomai Real Estate” (our translation) and home renovation business “Zhuhaojia”. Xiaomai Real Estate has opened several offline stores in the southeastern city of Fuzhou, offering the sale and purchase of pre-owned and new housing. Meanwhile, Zhuhaojia, owned by ByteDance’s home improvement company Zhuxiaobang, has begun offering decoration services in Beijing. The moves are part of a significant foray by the tech major into the currently sluggish real estate market in China.
