Port Blair, Nov 19:The Member of Parliament of Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Shri. Kuldeep Rai Sharma has requested the Secretary of Shipping Services to reserve at least 15 tickets for the residents of Long Island in every sailing of vessel from Port Blair to Long Island, which will largely benefit the residents of Long Island.

In a letter addressed to the Secretary of Shipping Services, the Member of Parliament mentioned that 20 tickets have been kept reserved for the residents of Long Island in every sailing of ferry from Long Island to Port Blair but no such tickets are reserved for the residents of Long Island in ferries, sailing from Port Blair to Long Island.

He added that because of this, residents of far-flung and isolated Long Island often find it difficult to get tickets for ferries sailing for Long Island from Port Blair, even in case of emergency.

Considering this problem, he requested the Secretary Shipping Services to reserve at least 15 tickets for the residents of Long Island in every sailing of vessel from Port Blair to Long Island.
