In his first zoom meeting with around 42 General Managers of RDCIS, Nirvik Banerjee, ED, RDCIS resonated the imminent thrust areas for the R&D Centre. Recently conferred the prestigious ‘Chairman Award of Excellence for R&D’ due to his innovations with products at IISCo, he underscored the responsibility of creating a pool of experts at National level joining hands with key stakeholders for modern day steel making. In line with corporate goals of SAIL & Ministry of steel, cost reduction and product commercialization would be the key issues of tomorrow. Also SAIL shall have a single window for NABL accreditation with RDCIS as the nodal agency. A graduate in metallurgy from NIT, Durgapur, Banerjee. He joined sail in the year 1986. Recipient of GS Tendulkar Award of NMD, Bhubaneswar, he represents SAIL in Ministry of Steel initiative for intensive use of steel in Housing Sector.
