New Features

Sons of the Forest Update 02 introduces a new cave system that will challenge survivors of the helicopter crash. The cave system is home to a new demon boss and dead cultists, as well as a new turtle shell rain collector, tougher puffy variation, and a new double story cannibal hut type.

Additionally, a new surveillance room has been added to the bunker residential area, and an admin panel for admin clients is now available. Endnight Games has also included additional story elements and an auto backup system for saves that have been overwritten.

Improvements and balancing

The latest update includes various improvements and balancing tweaks. Gold armor has been relocated to the new cave system, and the keypad entrance to bunker luxury has been removed, requiring players to open it in a different way. Container items now save their state in single-player, and furniture or ziplines can no longer be attached to doors and gates. The update also provides general improvements to the Finnish and Traditional Chinese text and the look of old paper pickups. Furthermore, rabbits and squirrels will try harder to evade players, while gold armor now absorbs 70% demonic damage instead of 90%.

Fixes

Sons of the Forest Patch 02 addresses multiple issues, such as fixing item duping using storage holders and cases of enemies spawning inside player-built bases. The update also includes fixes for issues like missing cleanup of the player out-of-breath audio, binocular visuals getting stuck on the screen, and GPS locator not being cleared after being picked up and loaded from a save.
